Bit like buses, you wait for ages for 1984 to be put on as a play and then you get 3 versions come along at the same time. I missed Blind Summit’s production (with puppets no less) earlier this year. If you’ve been reading all this week you’ll know I caught Paper Zoo’s production and now a new adaption by Matthew Dunster. It runs from today until 27 March at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre. If you’ve been following my movements closely, you’ll know why this production is particularly close to my heart. If not, subscribe to the blog. To celebrate, Orwell’s old employer (the BBC to me and you) are showing my short film about cctv ‘TV:OD’ on the Big [tele?] screen in Exchange Square, Manchester for the next two weeks. If you can’t be arsed, you can still watch it by click, click, clicking here.
