Atomic Witch

Photographs are vague. Their meanings can be open to different readings. I’m less and less inclined to publish pictures without accompanying words that make their meaning explicit. I’m also much more interested in vernacular and snapshot photography than most work that tries to have artistic meaning. Recently I’ve been interested in the Cold War and came across a photo on a Tumblr page that encouraged me to speculate on “what the fuck that’s all about then?”. It was also a good excuse to make a video – especially as one of my nieces is a film editor. So here then is a 15 minute documentary by me and Cat Gregory which lacking a real title, we’ll call “Atomic Witch”.
