On Saturday 16 June, I’ll be giving the second of the talks to go with my ‘1984 Exhibition’. This is aimed at amateur photographers who want to start their own documentary photography projects. After the talk they’ll be a screening of the video documentary about CCTV in Britain ‘Every Step You Take‘ – being shown with the kind permission of its Director, Nino Leitner. The event is free and runs from 2 to 4pm in the Langworthy Gallery at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. The exhibition ends its run on Sunday 1 July.
This weekend is the anniversary of the publication of George Orwell’s 1984 – and the No CCTV Campaign are organising events to raise questions about Big Brother and at the moment feature a couple of my photos on their website.
