Home is where the head is

A few posts ago I mentioned how my George Orwell 1984 collection, including Big Brother’s head from the Royal Exchange’s 2010 production, has been sent to the USA to be permanently held by the International Association of Privacy Professionals. They kindly sent me a snap of BB perched on high watching everything they did in the headquarters in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. They also acquired all the prints from my Reality TV exhibition about CCTV that was seen at the Royal Exchange and later at Salford Museum and Art Gallery. Part of the deal has involved me looking again at the work and the research behind it, so don’t be surprised if there are a few more things from me about the culture of surveillance.
