There was a fire in Manchester’s Northern Quarter last week. By chance I was passing and had a camera so joined the gawping. Tragically a firefighter died tackling the blaze and a couple of days later I took the picture of one of his colleagues looking at the tributes. At one time I probably would have contacted the local newspaper to try and get one of the photographs published, but in this instance didn’t.
