Giving a talk tomorrow to Salford University illustration students about the cover design of George Orwell’s ‘Nineteen Eighty-Four’. Is it the most important novel of the 20th Century? Well it’s certainly one of the most discussed. As a background to the talk I’ve put together a blog about the book and how it’s been interpreted by designers over the last 60 years. Here you’ll find links to lots of background material (keeping clicking through, as there’s already several pages worth of posts). I’ll add to the blog over the next few months in the build up to an exhibition at Salford Museum and Art Gallery I’m putting on. More about that another time. Click here to go to the blog.
