Well I was quite happy quietly building up a nice collection of abandoned shopping trolley photos, thinking of some way to turn it into a profound statement on consumerism (or come up with a good pun). Then I thought I better put it on a sound academic footing and do a bit of in-depth research – so I types “shopping trolley” into Google and finds some bugger’s been there, done that and eat the Tunnocks Caramel Bar. Mind you it’s gone to the top of my best seller list: The Stray Shopping Carts of Eastern North America: A Guide to Field Identification by Julian Montague. Suppose I’ll have to email him and see if he fancies writing the introduction to a field guide for Wythenshawe.
