Opportunities

Opportunism is a trait shared by would-be capitalists (and hoodies out for a bit o’ swag) – When the IRA bomb went off in Manchester, the owners of the Arndale Centre dramatically announced they would have to demolish the whole edifice, such was the devastation. Shortly after (when they realised their insurance would not cover damage caused by a terrorist act) they backtracked and assessed the damage as ‘minor’. It could be argued that the people who built the Arndale in the first place did more to ruin the centre of Manchester than the IRA ever did… Anyway, here’s a bit of opportunism on the city’s King Street.
