Talk this Saturday

I’m giving a talk this Saturday (27 July 2013) at the Whitworth Art Gallery’s free ‘Alternative Camera Club’ from 1pm. It’s a last minute hastily arranged thing (making my excuses for if it not being as polished as it should be) as the original speaker had to drop out. Anyway my talk’s called ‘The Trouble With Icons’ and it’s about what happens when a photograph transcends it’s original purpose and becomes part of a country’s culture. It won’t be giving too much away to sya it features Iwo Jima and 9/11 and is based on part of my booklet ‘A White Flag on the Moon’. If you can’t make it don’t worry as there’s  a video documentary in production on the same theme – more details on that later.
